INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES AND ME
True Stories

by: Behzad Farahani

In my meeting with the FBI, it became clear within minutes that they saw me as someone who could become one of their most significant assets globally, not just for organizing but also for managing their operations.

Throughout a series of engaging meetings with our agencies focused on global affairs, our teams participated in dynamic discussions that fostered both professional growth and international cooperation. These interactions led to the development of strong partnerships and relationships with leading intelligence and law enforcement agencies, including the CIA, DEA, Department of Defense (DoD), Department of

Justice (DoJ), United States Treasury (UST), United States Army, and United States Navy.

I have maintained a similar type of professional, diplomatic, or business relationship across different countries.

Our collective journey was marked by heroic and adventurous experiences. These endeavors involved highly classified operations, particularly in the realm of counterterrorism. Working alongside hundreds of agents, we were able to take on complex challenges that required strategic thinking, resilience, and the highest levels of discretion.

Our collaborative efforts also extended to combating financial crimes, including anti-money laundering activities. Together, we addressed transactions valued at over US$250 billion. Our anti-money laundering projects are estimated to have exceeded four trillion United States dollars.

Working alongside agencies and militaries has been the most honorable period of my life. The experiences, lessons learned, and the bonds formed during this time have shaped my character and perspective in profound ways.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals whose dedication to duty and selfless service embody the highest standards of heroism. These men and women consistently demonstrated courage, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the greater good. Their actions, both on and off the field, have left an indelible mark on my heart and memory.

The memories created during these years are among my most treasured. From intense moments of challenge and adversity to celebrations of accomplishment and camaraderie, each experience has contributed to a tapestry of honor and pride. Many stories and bonds forged in these environments will remain with me forever, carried silently and respectfully to my grave.

While stories of heroic triumphs and incredible successes often inspire us, it is equally important to acknowledge the sobering reality of persistent failures. Despite the lessons history offers, humanity continues to make significant mistakes—both on the international stage and within our own borders. These failures, some irreversible, serve as reminders of the critical importance of learning from the past.

The stories of failure are as instructive as those of success. They remind us that progress is not guaranteed and that vigilance, humility, and a willingness to learn are essential. By reflecting honestly on our irreversible mistakes—both foreign and domestic—we can strive to build a future less burdened by the errors of the past.

I also encountered a wide range of personalities. Unfortunately, some of the most challenging were those who were ignorant, arrogant, amateur, and opportunistic. These individuals seemed driven solely by the desire to climb the corporate ladder, often at the expense of others. Their actions were frequently destructive, as they would undermine colleagues and sabotage projects just to secure a better business position for themselves.

What was particularly striking about this group was that most had spent their entire careers as employees, rarely—if ever—venturing into self-employment or private practice. Their narrow experience meant that they often lacked an understanding of the risks, resilience, and strategies required to truly succeed on one’s own. In private practice, the path to success is far more demanding and nuanced than government; it requires personal accountability, adaptability, and a deep commitment to client trust and satisfaction.

Whether starting as a simple agent or advancing to a high-level role handling sensitive classified information, the lessons learned in private practice are distinct and invaluable. Self-employed professionals must constantly innovate, build genuine relationships, and earn their reputation through integrity and hard work. This authentic journey is often in stark contrast to the opportunistic behavior I observed among those who had only known the traditional employment model, where success is sometimes pursued at the cost of ethics and collaboration.

I have never tolerated those individuals, no matter what positions they hold. I have never been employed by any individual, organization, or government entity, and I have never had to tolerate foolishness in any professional setting.

This is why I consistently attained flawless precision in data collection and task execution, maintaining a perfect accuracy rate of 100%—without a single error or exception, ensuring every detail was handled impeccably. This quality has consistently propelled me to the forefront, allowing me to take on leadership roles and serve as an architect in various projects.

These are some of my unbelievable stories. I will only discuss the non-classified matters. This means that all topics or information shared will be appropriate for open discussion and do not contain any sensitive data. Should you have questions about classified details, please note that those cannot be addressed at this time. In order to preserve the privacy, confidentiality, and security of everyone, I have changed the names and identities throughout this book.
