MAN WITHOUT A BULLET
TRUE STORIES
by: Behzad Farahani
During President Carter’s tenure, significant events involving Islamic movements did occur, such as the Iranian Revolution of 1979, which resulted in the establishment of an Islamic Republic in Iran.
It was called “Green Belt”.
The "Green Belt" was a geopolitical strategy conceived during the Cold War era. The idea was to create a buffer zone of Islamic states across Central Asia and the Middle East, effectively acting as a barrier to the spread of communism from the Soviet Union into South Asia and beyond. This approach was reportedly encouraged by British strategists and adopted by American policymakers, including President Jimmy Carter. The premise was that Islam, as a religious and cultural force, could serve as a bulwark against
communist ideology, which was perceived as atheistic and incompatible with religious societies.Throughout history, the entanglement of religion and politics has led to significant consequences for nations and empires. When political powers attempt to manipulate religious sentiments or divisions for their own gain, the immediate advantages often mask deeper, long-term risks. The British Empire’s experiences with its colonies provide a powerful example of how such miscalculations can lead to the erosion of imperial control and eventual decline and demise.
The British are solely responsible for the prevailing global turmoil and instability. In 1979, they misled President Carter and the CIA, thereby contributing to the chaos in Iran that was subsequently characterized as a revolution. They are regarded as adept practitioners of manipulation and of deflecting responsibility onto others. They are now facing significant consequences and paying heavily for their earlier catastrophic actions and unanticipated misjudgments.
The British Empire, in its effort to maintain dominance over its vast colonial holdings, frequently employed tactics that exploited religious differences among local populations. These strategies included favoring certain religious groups over others, creating divisions, and sometimes even codifying religious distinctions into law. While these approaches were intended to weaken unified resistance and solidify British authority, they always sowed the seeds of future conflict and instability.
This time, the result became catastrophic. Outcome was disastrous, leading to widespread consequences that affected everyone involved. The severity of the situation was immediately apparent, with significant losses and irreparable damage. Lessons learned from this experience highlighted the importance of careful planning, risk assessment, and the need to anticipate potential pitfalls to prevent such catastrophic results in the future.
The fundamental miscalculation in such “religious games” was the assumption that religious divisions could be perpetually managed or controlled. In reality, these tactics often intensified sectarian tensions, making reconciliation and unity more difficult. Over time, the very groups the British sought to control became increasingly resistant to foreign rule as their grievances mounted. The failure to anticipate the long-term consequences of these catastrophic and piracy policies contributed to widespread unrest and ultimately damaged our civilization and peace.
Fanatic societies often lack a “single central authority”, making it difficult to undermine their leadership through targeted actions. Individuals within these groups may not exhibit strong patriotic ties or possess specialized training, intelligence, or experience, and can be easily replaced. Consequently, eliminating large numbers of leaders or members may have little impact on the group's overall structure or persistence.
Members are frequently motivated by religious beliefs, perceiving themselves as engaged in a struggle against forces they view as evil or threatening, including other religions and certain nations. Many hold a conviction that sacrificing themselves in battle or eliminating perceived enemies will grant them immediate entry to a rewarding afterlife. This ideology can intensify their commitment and resilience, complicating efforts to deter or disrupt their activities.
Also, there are not too many who dare to voice against Islam and even turning them on each other is not a military tactic at all. Therefore, it is an expensive mistake to stop a military operation to eliminate a few hundred fanatics. Releasing pressure while you are winning could be a fatal mistake when dealing with extremists driven by uncompromising ideology. Maintaining momentum is crucial to achieving lasting security and preventing future threats.
When expected least, I was so lucky to survive a bullet so close passing by six inches away from my ears and an overwhelming sense of gratitude for my unexpected fortune.
It was a sharp, sudden whistle that sliced through the air. The rush of wind created by its speed was almost tangible, leaving me frozen in shock as my heart pounded in my chest. In that split second, the world seemed to stand still, and the threat became painfully real.
Some of my close friends called it a failed assassination. I called it a unique experience. I realized how fragile our existence can be, prompting me to embrace life unapologetically and live politically incorrect, staying true to my values regardless of trends or expectations.
